Delta state police command has confirmed the rescue of a female student of the state polytechnic Otefe, Oghara, who attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the Oghara/Benin bridge into a river.
State police public relations officer, Bright Edafe, who confirmed this to journalist, explained that a traveler and his friend, who were returning from Benin saw the student jump from the bridge into the river and parked to raise an alarm.
Edafe however stated that some locals security agencies under the bridge jumped into the river and rescue the lady, while stressing that investigation is ongoing to reveal the reason why she attempted to commit suicide.
