The federal government has reiterated it readiness for engagement with Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger Republic despite indicating their joint withdrawal from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Recall that the three African Nations announced  that they had quit their membership of the West African Regional Bloc, saying it has become a threat to member states.

However, the three countries, which are currently under military rule, said they ceased to be members of the ECOWAS as the regional body allegedly moved away from the ideals of its founding father.
