The federal government has approved a new whistleblower draft bill in the country.

Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed disclosed this to journalist after the week’s council meeting, chaired by vice president, Yemi Osinbajo at the aso rock villa in Abuja, lamenting that the existing whistle-blowing policy launched on 21st of december, 2016 is losing momentum.

She however revealed that the council approved the draft bill in order to strengthen the fight against corruption and protect whistleblowers that provide helpful information to the federal government.
