The Federal government has blamed the high level of poverty in the country on state governors, as they operate only in state capitals, pay attention to building flyovers and airports, rather than improvement of life in the rural areas.
Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba, who made the allegation during an interview with newsmen at the end of the Federal Executive Council, (FEC) meeting in Abuja, advised the state governors to focus on initiatives that will pull the majority of the people out of poverty.
He however lamented as over 85 Million out of the 133 Million people are currently living in poverty are in the north, while 47 Million are also suffering in the South.
