Following the deregulation of the downstream petroleum industry, the federal government has commenced the process of closing down the petroleum equalization fund.

A Former Chairman of Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, Tunji Oyebanji confirmed the closure of the fund to newsmen, explaining that the move is in line with the provisions of the petroleum industry act 2021.

Oyebanji further revealed that the officials and marketers discussed the reconciliation and plan to close by next month.
