Imo House of Assembly has voted against the constitutional amendment for the autonomy of State Houses of Assembly, judiciary, and local government areas in the state.
The assembly, in a special sitting presided over by its speaker, Emeka Nduka, feels it is not ideal to grant financial autonomy to the legislature and judiciary, as well as the local government level.
The state assembly becomes the first arm of government to oppose the move.
