President of the Nigeria Labour Oongress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, has described the 35 percent pay rise of the federal government to the civil servants as mischievous, saying living wage should be 615 thousand Naira.
Ajaero stated this while speaking during an interview with newsmen, insisting that minimum wage of 30 thousand Naira can no longer cater for the wellbeing of an average Nigerian worker, as it has expired in April 18, 2024.
Recall that the federal government approved a pay rise of between 25 and 35 percent for civil servants across various consolidated salary structures.
