Lagos state government has directed all schools in the state to allow the use of Hijab by female students or pupils who desire to.

The directive signed by the state head of service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, was copied to relevant stakeholders, including the state Deputy Governor, speaker of the State House of Assembly, the Chief Judge of the state, Secretary to the state Government, Commissioners and Permanent secretaries.

All concerned authorities in the education sector in the state, according to the circular  were ordered to abide by the supreme court judgment which upheld the use of Hijab by female students.
