The federal government has expressed worry over the situation of the country, whereby graduates are not unemployable, saying there is a difference between unemployment and unemployability.
Minister for Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami made this known, calling on stakeholders to place less emphasis on certificates obtained from school but more emphasis on skills which will make Nigerian graduates employable.
According to him, there is a mismatch between the quality of Nigerian graduates and the skills for job opportunities available globally, stressing that, in Nigeria and Africa at large, there is a need to address the issue of mismatch between what graduates have to offer and what employers want.
