The Ogun state government has assured residents of Ijebu East Local Government area of improved security following the tragic death of a farmer, Musa Kalamu, who was reportedly killed by a roaming elephant from one of the state’s reserved forests.

State Commissioner for Forestry, Taiwo Oludotun, gave the assurance while receiving a delegation from Itasin community, assuring the residents that proactive steps are currently ongoing to prevent such incidents in the future.

Family FM’s Segun Omotanbaje reports that Oludotun emphasized the need for increased public awareness and education, disclosing that the state government will intensify its publicity and sensitization campaigns in the state.
