Owners and drivers of trailers and tippers operating between Ogun and Lagos states have appealed to the Ogun state government to intervene in the harsh toll levy recently introduced by the Lagos state truck and cargo operators committee.
The operators made this appeal during a press briefing, stating that the new levy introduced by Lagos state truck and cargo operators committee imposes a toll of 3,000 naira for trucks and 1,000 naira for tippers, in addition to existing charges already being paid.
According to Family FM’s Segun Omotanbaje, president of the first Nigeria tipper and lorry drivers association, Nureni Ogunsola and chairman of the new born tipper lorry association, Tajudeen Adeoye, jointly called on the governments of both Ogun and Lagos states to prevail over the situation in order to prevent potential clashes.
