President Bola Tinubu has established a presidential committee on climate action and green economic solutions to coordinate all policies and programs on climate action and green economic development.

In a statement by the Director for Information and Public Relations in the office of the secretary to the government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, the president also appointed his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale as the special presidential envoy on climate action while the committee will be chaired by the president himself.

However, the committee will remove the constraints to foster a whole-of-government approach to climate-action programs, provide an efficient governance architecture among other responsibilities.
