Ogun State Police Command says a 33-year-old suspected armed robber, Akeem Owonikoko has alleged that a police Inspector, identified simply as Ola supplied him and other gang members with guns.
State Police Spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, who revealed this in a statement issued to journalists, said Owonikoko, who was arrested along Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway during a sting operation, has been terrorizing residents of the Obalende area in Ijebu Ode.
Odutola further stated that items recovered from him include 78 live cartridges and a locally fabricated short gun, while noting that the commissioner of police, Abiodun Alamutu will charge the suspect to court as soon as possible.
