The Federal Government has expressed displeasure over the theft of the expansion joints on the recently inaugurated 2nd Niger bridge by unknown vandals.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, who confirmed this to newsmen, enjoined persons living close to major bridges to help in protecting them against vandals, while announcing that whistle-blowers will be rewarded, adding that security arrangements will also be deployed to watch over major highways and bridges.
Umahi however appreciates the public for the zeal of their concerns, particularly the patriotic young Nigerian who raised the desired alarm that trended widely in media platforms, assuring the public that a more formidable security architecture is being activated to forestall further havoc on the facilities.
