Federal Government currently owes highway contractors the sum of 10.4 trillion Naira debt.
Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola who made this known at a budget defence session with the House of Representatives committee in Abuja, also lamented the shortage of young engineers and technical officers due to the embargo placed on employment by government, adding that such is affecting the his ministry
He further explains that the main challenge to highways development in the country remains inadequate funding.
