The federal government has directed the immediate reopening of the independence bridge in Lagos state after millions of Lagosian were locked in hours-long gridlock.
Recall that the federal controller of works in the state, Olukorede Kesha, had stated that the closure was for planned maintenance and rehabilitation.
However, Minister of Works, David Umahi disclosed that necessary repairs on the bridge will be carried out at a later date.
