The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has urged President Bola Tinubu to urgently declare a state of emergency in the health sector.
Ekiti state chapter of the union gave the urge in a press release issued to journalists by it’s Chairman, Babatunde Rosiji, appealing to the government at all levels to also increase budgetary allocation to the sector by 15 percent in compliance with abuja declaration in order to tackle the challenges affecting the sector.
Rosiji however expressed worry as the health sector also lacked the infrastructural capacity and personnel to manage the health sectors due to the inadequate funding and lack of working environment.
