Lagos state government has dismissed reports alleging that governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was asked to resign over health concerns, describing the claim as false and misleading.

In a statement, the governor’s special adviser on media and publicity, Gboyega Akosile, said the report was fabricated, insisting Sanwo-Olu remains healthy and fully active in office.

The government also dismissed claims that deputy governor Obafemi Hamzat was being positioned to take over, noting both leaders recently held a routine official meeting.
