The Borno State Police Command has reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy on torture and human rights abuses, warning officers to uphold professionalism at all times.
State commissioner of police, Naziru Abdulmajid, issued the directive on May 4 during a briefing with senior officers in Maiduguri, stressing accountability, restraint, and respect for human dignity.
The move comes amid growing public scrutiny of police conduct nationwide and renewed calls for stricter enforcement of use-of-force standards.
