The chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa has warned that rising substance abuse in Nigeria is rapidly becoming a national emergency.
Speaking at a conference in Abuja, Marwa said the growing drug crisis poses serious threats to families, communities, economic development and national security.
He, therefore, called for urgent and coordinated action to tackle the menace, stressing that government agencies, schools, families and community leaders must work together to protect young Nigerians and curb the spread of drug abuse.
