The Federal Government has dismissed claims that the Tinubu administration borrowed about 80 trillion naira in three years, describing the reports as misleading.
Minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Taiwo Oyedele, said the figures are based on accounting adjustments, not fresh loans.
Addressing lawmakers, Oyedele said the widely circulated debt figures have been misinterpreted and do not represent the government’s actual borrowing under the current administration.
