Inspector-general of police, Olatunji Disu has ordered all commissioners of police to conduct an immediate audit of arms and ammunition across commands.
Disu issued the directive at an emergency conference in Abuja, stressing that the exercise must be thorough, transparent, and properly documented, with reports submitted to force headquarters.
He said the move aims to boost accountability, identify gaps, and prevent misuse, while strengthening operational readiness across the force.
