The House of Representatives has condemned renewed xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa, urging the federal government to take swift diplomatic and protective action.
The resolution follows a motion by Donald Ojogo, seconded by Billy Osawaru, and presided over by deputy speaker Benjamin Kalu.
The lawmakers called for urgent diplomatic engagement, possible evacuation of affected Nigerians, and a review of bilateral ties, including a temporary suspension of business permits for South African firms in Nigeria.
