Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmoud Yakubu, has charged Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECS) to build the capacity of their staff to improve on knowledge of new policies and practical innovations introduced by the commission to improve electoral process.

Yakubu gave the charge during a consultative meeting with recs at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, stating that it is expected of them to implement the policies and procedural issues already determined by the commission.

The INEC Boss also used the opportunity to welcome six new resident electoral commissioners sworn in exactly 32 days ago, expressing gladness that the commission now has recs in all the states and the federal capital territory.
