Kogi State Government has ordered the temporary closure of schools statewide, citing credible intelligence and the need to protect pupils, students, and teachers.

Chairman of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) in the state, Reuben Jimoh, said the midterm break has been moved forward and will serve as an emergency lockdown until February 16, 2026.

State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said the move is proactive and responsible, not a response to panic.
