The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has disclosed
that three persons have been killed after a building under construction
collapsed in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers state.
State Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Olufemi Ayodele, who
confirmed the incident, said the victims are laborers working at the
site of the two-storey building when the incident occurred, adding that
those injured have been taken to a nearby hospital for proper
treatment.
He further disclosed that preliminary investigation revealed that the
rods, pillars and blocks used in the construction are below the
required specifications.
