The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ahmed Habib,  has met with some state governors at the Nigeria governors’ forum secretariat in Abuja as part of efforts to guard against the 2023 flood alert predicted by the agency.

Recall that last week, the federal government issued a flood alert, saying 14 states and 31 communities may witness heavy rainfall that can lead to flooding.

According to the federal government, the states identified include Plateau, Kano, Sokoto, Delta, Kaduna, Akwa Ibom, Katsina, Kebbi, Zamfara, Jigawa among others.
