The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has given approval for the creation of humanitarian and poverty alleviation trust fund to raise 5 billion dollars annually.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, stated this while briefing State House correspondent shortly after the FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, stating that the trust fund will enable the Federal Government respond promptly to humanitarian situations in the country.
According to her, the funds is a form of financing that will help the government get contributions from different sectors.
