The federal government has disclosed that the student loan will be disbursed directly to the institutions of applicants in order to avoid diversion.
Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, Akin Sawyerr, who spoke to journalists, also noted that individuals who obtain the loan will be made to repay two years after completion of the mandatory national youth service corps.
Recall that the student loan was signed into law by President Bola Tinubu on the 12th of June, 2023.
