Armed gunmen have attacked the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) in Omugo, Kwara State, abducting eight worshippers during service.
The assailants reportedly fired sporadically to disperse the congregation, but three of the victims later escaped, leaving five still in captivity.
State Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, however urged security agencies and local vigilantes to track down the attackers and secure the victims’ release.
