Lagos State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging the National Assembly to commence an urgent constitutional amendment in order to allow the creation of State Police due to insecurity in the country.
Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, who made the call at a plenary session, said the call follows the growing threats of kidnapping and other forms of insecurity in Nigeria.
Obasa also called for the proper equipping of the Neighborhood Safety Corps so as to support other security agencies in the state.
