A-year-old male lion has killed a zookeeper while feeding the wild cats in their den at the zoological garden of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, confirmed the incident in a statement, explaining that the victim, identified as Olabode Olawuyi, who was a veterinary technologist, was said to have has been in charge of the zoological garden for over a decade.
Menwhile, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Simeon Bamire, has ordered full investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
