Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, (OGSIEC), has disclosed that elections for the positions of chairmen of the 20 local governments and councilors of the 236 wards will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
Chairman of the commission, Babatunde Osibodu, in a statement issued this Tuesday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital said the election will be held between 8:00am and 2:00pm, recalling that the tenure of the local government chairmen expired on July 26, 2024, and heads of Local government administrations, had taken over in managing the affairs at the council areas.
According to the statement, prospective candidates are to obtain nomination forms from the commission no later than Tuesday October 22, 2024.
