The Nigerian Senate has urged Works Minister, Dave Umahi, to prioritise completing abandoned and ongoing road projects before starting new ones, while calling for urgent action against flooding and erosion in the South-East.

The resolution follows concerns raised by lawmakers over abandoned roads, including the highway linking Ogbaru in Anambra state to Andoni in Rivers state.

The Senate, however, rejected a proposal to halt all new road projects but adopted a recommendation urging Umahi to prioritize existing ones.
