The National Security Council (NSC) has dismissed the fear of postponing the presidential and National Assembly general elections slated for Saturday, 25th of February, 2023.
Attorney-General of the federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba confirmed this in a statement issued to journalist after the meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, explaining that the council has been given a marching order for the elections to commence on Saturday.
Recall that anger and violence had taken place in some parts of the country over the new naira swap policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the attendant cash scarcity which made some people doubt if the general election will hold.
