The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Ogun state chapter, has called for concerted efforts to address the challenge of rapid population explosion in many communities in the state without corresponding infrastructural upgrade.
Speaking during the institute’s august monthly general meeting held in Ilaro, over the weekend, the NITP State Chairman, Adefela Sogbesan, warned that communities such as Ilaro and Ibese in Yewa South Local government area are experiencing a population boom without corresponding infrastructure upgrades.
The institute therefore, pledged its readiness to strengthen partnerships with the state government and federal polytechnic, Ilaro, among other relevant government agencies and stakeholders to address this worrying situation.
