The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, (SERAP) has appealed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas to reduce the National Assembly budget of 344.85 billion naira to reflect the current economic realities in the country and cut the cost of governance.
SERAP Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare, who spoke to journalists, urged them to allow President Bola Tinubu to present a fresh supplementary appropriation bill, which reflects the reduced National Assembly budget for the approval of the National Assembly.
Oluwadare also urged them to publish details of the proposed spending details of the three billion naira for the Senate car park and the three billion naira budgeted for the House of Representatives car park
