No fewer than 30 people are feared dead after a canoe carrying about 40 passengers capsized in Ringim local government area of Jigawa State.
The tragic incident occurred at Malamawar Yandutse village while most of those on board were women and children.
However, the Jigawa State emergency management agency says rescue operations are still ongoing, while the exact number of casualties and survivors is yet to be confirmed.
