Nigeria’s super eagles have climbed to 24th in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings, their highest position in 16 years despite missing out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The team, led by Eric Chelle, also moved up to second in Africa, behind only Morocco, highlighting their growing strength on the continental stage.
The 12-place jump follows Nigeria’s third-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations and marks their return to the world’s top 25 for the first time since 2010.
