Federal and State Governments says they are currently taking steps to cushion the severe effect of floods as the rainy season commences.

Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mustapha Ahmed disclosed this in a press briefing, explaining that the federal government has set up a presidential committee for the development of a comprehensive plan of action for preventing flood disaster.

Recall that Ahmed had few weeks ago warned that this year’s flood will be worse than 2022, as he further revealed that 178 local government areas in 32 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are under threat.
