The federal government has directed the Nigerian midstream and downstream petroleum regulatory authority to intensify talks with gas producers and marketers to boost liquefied petroleum gas imports and stabilise supply nationwide.
Minister of state for petroleum resources, Ekperikpe Ekpo, said the move follows public concerns over rising cooking gas prices, assuring Nigerians of steady and affordable supply for households, industry, and power.
He added that marketers will raise import volumes, while new liquefied petroleum gas deliveries from the Seplat gas facility in July are expected to improve national supply.
