Flight operations was disrupted at the Lagos and Abuja airports on Tuesday August 11, as members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and aviation workers’ unions protested against domestic airlines.

The unions are demanding workers’ unionization and payment of statutory charges to the aviation regulator, leaving several passengers stranded.

Reacting to the disruption, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) appealed for calm, assuring passengers that flight safety remains uncompromised while efforts continue to resolve the dispute.
