Dr. Doyin Abiola, a Nigerian journalist and former managing director of National Concord, has died at the age of 82. According to family sources, she died peacefully late Tuesday night after a brief illness, adding that burial arrangements are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Recall that the deceased, who was a pioneeringfigure in Nigerian media, was MKO’s wife andalso the first Nigerian woman to serve as botheditor and later managing director of a national daily newspaper, among her numerous achievements.
