The House of Representatives has passed a bill extending the implementation of the capital component of the 2025 appropriation act from June 30 to September 30, 2026.

The bill scaled first, second, and third readings in a single sitting after lawmakers suspended the relevant house rules to fast-track its passage.

Leading the debate on the bill, house leader Julius Ihonvbere said the extension was necessary to allow the completion of several capital projects yet to be fully implemented under the 2025 budget.
