House of Representatives Committee on National Agency on Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has suspended the ban on the sales of spirits and alcoholic drinks in sachets and pet bottles until further investigation is conducted.
Recall that NAFDAC had on the 5th of February, 2024 announced the ban on production and sale of alcoholic beverages in sachets so as to prevent children and youths from accessing these alcoholic products.
The Committee Chairperson, Regina Akume, who spoke to newsmen in Abuja, stressed that the committee’s primary concern is ensuring the effectiveness of NAFDAC, while considering employment creation and economic growth.
