No fewer than two persons have been killed, while an unconfirmed number of travelers were kidnapped in Rafi local government area of Niger state by armed bandits.
Secretary to the state government, Ahmed Matane confirmed this to newsmen, explaining that the gunmen invaded the area and started shooting sporadically into the air, while vehicle conveying the travelers was set on fire by the bandits before they were snatched to an unconfirmed location.
he however stated that investigation is ongoing in order to rescue the kidnapped victims.
