Thousands of Students at the University of Ibadan have protested against the recent increase in school fees and other longstanding issues at the early hours of today.
The students, who spoke to newsmen, revealed that three primary concerns resulted to the protest, which are, the hike in school fees, inadequate facilities and the management’s apparent disregard for students’ welfare, while demanding prompt action from the administration to address these grievances.
The students, who gathered at the institution’s entrances, blocked access for both academic and non-academic staff and proceeded to march across various faculties, ensuring a complete shutdown of academic activities.
