Former deputy director of the Department of State Service (DSS), Dennis Amachree, has urged President Bola Tinubu to suspend political campaigns and focus squarely on tackling Nigeria’s worsening security challenges.
Speaking while fielding questions from newsmen, Amachree said the responsibility for reforming the nation’s security architecture rests with the commander-in-chief and should take priority over electoral considerations.
He argued that restoring security must come before campaigning, warning that citizens are unlikely to participate in elections if attacks and insecurity remains unchecked.
